Frenectomy/Fiberotomy

Frenectomy and Fiberotomy are each simple surgical procedures often recommended as part of an orthodontic treatment plan. We perform these procedures at Dr. Monica A. Lamble Advanced Periodontics & Dental Implants.

The Frenectomy removes a web of skin that pulls on the gum line, often contributing to recession. This web of skin may also inhibit teeth from moving during orthodontic treatment. Removing it prevents further recession and allows the orthodontist to get optimal results for the patient, maintaining the desired contact between the front teeth.

Fiberotomy is a procedure which releases fibers around a tooth to help stabilize it and enable the best post-orthodontics outcome.
