What To Expect

Referral to a specialist can create anxiety and some people are nervous in the dental chair.
From your first visit, here’s what to expect at Dr. Monica A. Lamble Advanced Periodontics & Dental Implants.

First Visit

Please bring the forms we mailed to you. If you did not have time to fill them out in advance, or have misplaced them, then please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time. We must have the completed forms in our file before we begin your examination.

During the first visit, we will review your medical and dental history and conduct a thorough periodontal examination. We may take additional X-rays. After the examination, we will explain our findings and the recommended treatment. We will take the time to answer all your questions before you leave the office. Our goal is to help you understand your condition and what you can expect from your treatment. Note: we will not provide any treatment during your first visit.

Please bring the following items:

  • The forms you received in the mail from our office
  • Picture identification
  • Dental insurance identification card or name of your insurance company with telephone number
  • The name and birthdate of the person who is the insurance holder
  • Any written instructions and prescription from your general dentist
  • List of all prescription and over-the-counter medicines you have taken recently or are currently taking

Second (and Subsequent) Visits

We will work with your general dentist to develop your individualized treatment plan. There is no typical or average treatment. You will continue to see your general dentist while receiving treatment at our office. Keep in mind, periodontal appointments do not replace your six-month check-ups with your general dentist.

Periodontal diseases are chronic, just like diabetes. Without ongoing treatment, diseases can recur. For best results and optimal health, you can expect to visit us periodically for supportive periodontal treatment. These visits are coordinated with check-ups at your general dentist office.

Handling Treatment Costs

The cost of your treatment will depend on the complexity of your condition and the extent of your treatment. We evaluate each patient and create a custom treatment plan. There is no average cost.

If you have dental insurance, it will help cover at least some of the cost of your treatment. Our professional staff is experienced at working with dental insurance carriers to clarify coverage. We will review your expected out-of-pocket cost during your first visit, before any treatment begins.

We offer payment options for out-of-pocket costs. Our staff will review these options during your first visit.
